You don't want to miss this event!
If you are a volunteer board member with a California SHRM Chapter (or will be), this summit opportunity is just for you! Registration is now open for this year's conference at the Westin San Diego, on January 24 & 25, 2020. This conference will offer you leadership strategies that will strengthen your chapter and present valuable networking opportunities for chapter leaders from across the state. Past attendees believe that this is a must attend for chapter board members and one of the true values provided by the CALSHRM State Council for its leaders.
The Volunteer Leadership Summit Committee is enthusiastically planning great programming and a networking event to provide you with details about the support available from SHRM and CALSHRM, tools for maximizing effectiveness and leadership tips.
Attendees receive a full overview of the CalSHRM and SHRM organizations, as well as introductions and familiarity with the Council's Core Leadership Areas and Directors (CLAs).
The evening will wrap up with an opportunity to network with peers at the evening reception available to all Council members, offering beverages of choice and heavy appetizers.
Attendees have the opportunity to attend a variety of breakout learning sessions focused on Chapter Finance, Inclusion & Diversity, Governance, Membership, and SHRM Certification.
These sessions are specifically designed to provide valuable information, tools and resources to chapter volunteer leaders to help them manage and lead their organizations.
Who should attend? This summit is perfect for:
New Chapter Presidents - New Chapter Presidents will learn about the resources available, from CalSHRM and SHRM, regarding chapter leadership. New leaders will get “up-to-speed” quickly on everything from Chapter Governance, Finances, Membership and much more.
Returning Chapter Presidents - Returning Chapter Presidents will be able to attend “deep-dive” breakouts where they can focus on strategic planning around key areas and leadership.
President Elects - What a better way to educate President Elects on important chapter leadership topics.
Other Board Members - Many existing board members are “leaders of the future” of your chapter. The Summit is a great way to introduce them to the support networks of CalSHRM and SHRM, or let them focus on development areas like Social Media, Marketing, Membership, etc.
